The game is the sequel to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and was released by Namco Bandai Games on March 5, 2013 in North America, and on March 8, 2013 in Europe. In Japan the launch occurred on April 18, 2013.
The game features 80 playable characters and includes some new, making this the game with the higest amount of characters in the series Ultimate Ninja . was announced that the fighting system would be modified, with the possibility to use the Awakening mode, one state that gives each character skills improved when his life is low at any time of the fight for some characters. As in previous games, the player can choose two characters to help you during battle. Now, the characters can also help support the player character by the use of two different combinations. The play shows the events of World War adapting most episodes that forão longer displayed when the game was released. was also included the "Ultimate Decision" mode, which gives the option to change the outcome of battles, resulting in alternative histories .
